Emma Katz, a fifth-grader from Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, wants to be anything but: she's a monkfish, a fox, a squash, even a highly-qualified dentist. Nothing seems to stick until she's assigned to research Erik the Red for her World Discovery Day report, and stumbles into the world of some real-life vikings. When pegged with the tasks of both ascending to chieftain of the vikings and saving her local library, Emma learns to love her imagination and realizes that the real adventure is in being yourself.
